Information Regarding Different Types of Daran

Daran

Daran PVdC latex is a family of aqueous emulsions of vinylidene chloride barrier co-polymers based on technology developed by W.R. Grace and The Dow Chemical Company. Commercial Daran PVdC latex products are manufactured and sold by Owensboro Specialty Polymers, Inc.

Daran PVdC latex can be coated over paper and film substrates. Coatings of Daran PVdC latex dry to form clear, glossy, abrasion resistant polymer films which are excellent barriers to the transmission of water vapor and oxygen. Moreover, these polyvinylidene chloride coatings are odorless and tasteless and they are impervious to most oils and greases. Daran PVdC latex emulsions have also found application in industrial coatings and other industries where excellent barrier is required.
